1. Our commitment
[Business Name] is committed to being a child-safe organisation. We align our practices for the Pigrids platform and tutoring services with the NSW Child Safe Standards, and we expect every person who works with us — staff, tutors and contractors — to share that commitment.
2. Working with Children Checks
Every tutor who delivers face-to-face or online sessions through Pigrids holds a valid New South Wales Working with Children Check (WWCC), as required by the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012(NSW). Our principal tutor's clearance number is [WWCC number]. Each tutor's clearance is verified through the Office of the Children's Guardian's Employer Verification service before they deliver any session, and re-verified periodically; if a clearance is suspended, barred or expires, the tutor stops delivering sessions immediately. Your tutor's WWCC clearance number is shared with you at booking confirmation so you can verify it independently. Face-to-face sessions are provided in Sydney under New South Wales child-safe law; online sessions are delivered to students across Australia by these NSW-cleared tutors.
3. Session safeguards
A parent or guardian must book and provide consent for any tutoring session involving a student under 18, and may observe any session their child attends. Online sessions are held using standard video-call links shared with the parent or guardian, not private or unmonitored channels. Tutors and students must not contact each other through personal messaging apps or social media. No session may be recorded by either party without the written consent of the student's parent or guardian.
4. Online platform safety
The Pigrids platform does not offer chat or direct messaging between users, and carries no advertising. We apply data minimisation for children's information — see our Privacy Policy for what we collect and why.
5. Concerns & reporting
If you have a concern about the conduct of a tutor or the safety of a child using Pigrids, contact us at [email protected]. Every concern is taken seriously: we acknowledge it promptly, record it, keep the reporter informed where appropriate, and act on it — including suspending a tutor while a concern is investigated. If a child is in immediate danger, call Police on 000. For advice or to report a child protection concern, you can also call the NSW Child Protection Helpline on 132 111.
We comply with our reporting obligations under NSW law, including the Reportable Conduct Scheme administered by the Office of the Children's Guardian under the Children's Guardian Act 2019 (NSW), and mandatory reporting under the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW) where they apply. We keep records of child-safety complaints and their outcomes, screen everyone who works with children for us (WWCC verification plus reference checks), and brief tutors on these safeguards and their reporting obligations before their first session.
